Downgrading from PPL to an Ultralight Pilot Permit
July 2014
Licenced pilots who wish to downgrade to an Ultralight Pilot Permit – Powered Parachutes Only to take advantage of reduced medical standards, require a minimum of five hours of flight training on an aircraft that meets the ultralight classification and 30 take offs and landings. Downgrading to any lower pilot licence or permit does not require surrendering or cancelling the higher licence. Contact your local Transport Canada Centre (TCC) to do this. You can locate the nearest TCC by checking the TC website.
Take care
