Foot Launch – Course Outline
Here is an outline of a our typical foot launch PPG course. Please note that if you are here for 7 consecutive days we will train in the mornings and also in the afternoons. If you will be scheduling every training session we only plan for afternoons only as morning sessions are very short and it is not worth to drive long distance for couple hours of training.
All flights will be conducted with me – Andre Zeman – CFI of Powered Paragliding Ontario – a flight school approved and certified by Transport Canada.
Day 1 – Morning – Ground School
We will start at 9 am to complete 6 hours of preparatory ground school that will cover:
- Basic principles of PPG aerodynamics
- Paraglider and paramotor flight principles
- General aviation principles and rules
- Non powered flight simulator
- Pre-solo exam
- Weather forecast – Transport Canada student pilot permit
- We will finish around 3 – 4 pm
Day 1 – Afternoon – Field
- How to put on training harness
- Paraglider – how to unpack it
- Paraglider – clearing lines and untangling lines.
- Paraglider/training harness – paraglider attachment for forward inflation.
- Paraglider/training harness – paraglider attachment for reverse inflation
- Ground forward inflations of paraglider
- Ground inflations of glider – building a wall.
- Ground reverse inflations of paraglider
- Paraglider – packing
Day 2 – Morning
Typically first 3 hrs after sunrise.
- Ground forward inflations of paraglider.
- Ground reverse inflations of paraglider
- Paramotor pre-flight check.
- Paramotor start and stop procedure
- Paramotor – powered run practice
Day 2 – Afternoon
Typically last 4 hrs before sunset.
- Ground forward inflations of paraglider.
- Ground reverse inflations of paraglider
- Paramotor and paraglider forward ground handling
- Paramotor and paraglider forward ground handling
- Additional ground school information
Day 3 – Morning
Typically first 3 hrs after sunrise.

- Paramotor and paraglider mock up take off practice
