Too windy today – no flying
Aug 20/16 – PPG course day 3
3 guys at the field. Massimo, Chris and Graham.
Graham has 20 flights and just purchased his ne RS ULTRA paramotor and he came to add few more flights to his log book.
Massimo was ready for first solo we we wanted the wind to be just perfect. So Chris and Massimo ground handled until wind was about 15 km/h which is ideal for first solo.
After about 2 inflations Massimo locked it in and took off with a slight tendency to sit dow. His flying skills are very good and his landing was just as soft as mines are. Very well done.
Congrats on first solo Massimo.
Chris has also improved tremendously. He is inflating with paramotor on his back as well. WE decided to use lighter Miniplane as stepping stone. Good work Chris.
Graham flew his new paramotor and added 2 more flights to his log – total 22. He will be done soon.
Aug 20/16 – PPG course day 3 am
Massimo is ready to fly. His kiting skills are excellent. We had practiced take off under power. All we have to do is to add a helmet. I am pretty sure Massimo will manage first solo tonight.
Chris had his epiphany this am and now kites well too. He is now at the mock up hand throthle stage.
Aug 19/16 – Grahams new Kangook
Graham has piked up his new RS ULTRA paramotor
Aug 19/16 – PPG course day 2 pm
Starting to kite at 3:30. Brutal heat. Chris is moving along nicely he’s working with mock up hand throthle and near the end he was trying forward inflations with paramotor on his back. Chris is right behind him. I’m hoping for cooler temperature tomorrow.
Aug 19/16 – PPG course day 2 am
We started at 7:30 in the morning with learning how to start motors and also how to use them to get pushed on takeoff. We also practiced shutting the engines off very quickly if need be. By 830 wind picked up and we started to ground handle. As usual wind was increasing and around 1130 Chris got lifted up by a dust devil to about 12 feet. It was pretty wild. That was a clear indication to pack up which we did.
Aug 18/16 – Massimo and Chris started PPG course
Ass usual, very long day. Solid 12 hour in heat. I hate heat. Ground school and simulator done. Then 4 hrs of reverse ground handling.
July 18/16 – Purchased ultralight aeroplane
I have purchased Zenair CH 701 – STOL plane
Planning to master it and offer aeroplane flying lessons too.
July 18/16 – I am away
I am away from July 18 to August 15.
I will not be able to answer by phone.
I should have access to my email every couple days or so.
Have a great summer and do not break anything…
