My name is Andre Zeman. I have started to paraglide in 1988. This was a real dawn of paragliding, the equipment then was questionable, there was no schools to train pilots, we did not know anything about the weather… frankly, I am surprised I have survived those years. I have flown in all the famous PG ploaces such as Annecy, Miussy, Chamonix etc.
After moving to Canada in 1993, I have made numerous PG trips to Quebec to fly at Mt. Yamaska and also to the Finger Lake region of NY, USA.
When I started my indoor rock climbing gym in 1994, I did not have as much time to travel to these far away places and wait for the proper flying conditions so I put my flying on hold and decided to focus on rock climbing. My flying passion was sparked again when I discovered that one can use a back pack style paramotor and hill or mountain to fly from is no longer needed. I got trained and completed my first hand full of solo flights in Czech Republic where I am originally from. After purchasing my first paramotor in 1998 and getting my Canadian Ultralight pilot permit I then spent 3 years flying around Niagara Region gaining a lot of experience.
I have earned and received an instructor rating from Transport Canada in 2001 and since then, I have taught Powered Paragliding, otherwise known as PPG or Paramotoring, to over 300 students. I am the most experienced instructor in english speaking part of Canada. I estimate that I have close to 4000 successful PPG flights on my belt. I also hold a private pilot license and currently have 200 hours on Piper Cherokee Warrior II. I am checked on Cessna 172 and I used to `own CH 701 STOL that I have about 180 hrs on.
So… if your wife or girlfriend tells you that you can only fly PPG if you take proper training from someone with a lot of expertise and credentials, you got the right guy.
Year 2023 will be my 22nd teaching season. I do not cut corners, I do this right. Safety is paramount. I no longer get challenged by PPG flying, it is simply too easy for me, I get challenged by teaching students the most beautiful type of flying there is.
Please give me a call or send me an email if you have any questions about PPG gear and/or my comprehensive paramotoring courses.
Take care and fly safely!
Andre
