Apr 21/18 – PPG course day 1

4 students completed ground school. From left to right: Gino, Julie, Duncan and behind is Andy

Then 3 continued at the field.

Busy day but a lot was acomplished. Andy is kiting really well, Duncan is right behind him, Julie still needs bit more time.

Apr 9/18 – 2.4 hrs on 701

A few circuits then flew from CNZ8 Grimsby to CYSN St. Catharines. Landed, took short break and flew back. Then farted around Grimsby. It was awesome. Love the cabin heat in this weather!

Mar 29/18 – Flying CH 701

Another 1.6 hrs in my Zenair CH 701 STOL. Mostly in circuit – I am really starting to grease the landings. Short XC flight to Grimsby then east along lake shore and then back to CNZ8

Great fun

Andre

March 4/18 – 1.3 hrs in Cherokee

Great smooth flying yesterday. From St. Catharines CYSN to Grimsby CNZ8 to check on condition of runway. Low and over pass confirmed that snow needs to melt more. Then to Welland CNQ3 for touch and go on 05. The to fly over the Niagara Falls then back to NOTL and CYSN. Great flight with very little turbulence.

Feb 28/18 – More winter flying…

Its has been almost 3 months since I flew the Piper Cherokee so it was time to take it up for spin. Normally I would feel bit nervous not having flown this type for so long but this time it was no issue, it was like when I was flying it on regular bases. I have been focusing on the 701 which is much more challenging to fly and utilize the STOL capabilities. I do miss the PPG flying but it has to be warm – waiting for the 15 C plus temperatures to come…

Feb 24/18 – Winter flying? Nice in a heated cabin…

I took the CH 701 for flight day before yesterday.

I did bunch of circuits and made a short XC trip to Stoney Creek airport. It was awesome.

I went flying again this am. Nice morning, overcast, no turbulence at all and only minimal cross wind. Bunch of circuits then XC to Staff field and back. Then 5 more super short circuits. I am really getting hang of it. – I wil be ready for passenger soon.

3.5 hrs flight time and close to 20 take offs and landings in two days. Not too shabby.
