Oct 4/15 – Chris is done
/in Uncategorized/by Andre ZemanAfter tricky morning Chris finally had his epiphany and everything clicked together. In one afternoon session he has completed 16 flights to achieve total of 30. Thirty solo flights is the Transport Canada requirement. Chris was very happy and so was I. Now he just needs to pass the ultra exam. Congratulations on completing the practical part of the powered paragliding course.
Sep 28/15 – Graham and Chris – 3 flights each
/in Uncategorized/by Andre ZemanIt was overcast and raining this morning. I didn’t even drive to the field just call the guys and told them to meet at Tim Hortons. He spent two hours drinking coffee and watching videos of PPG crashes. Every single crash what’s caused by pilot error. Most of these videos come from United States where the sport is unregulated so some people don’t take any training at all and just try on their own that certainly is a recipe for disaster.
Around 10 o’clock the rain stopped so we went to the field and in about 30 minutes the grass was dry enough to try. Chris took off first and Graham followed shortly after. We had good wind and overcast so we flew till about 12:30. Both guys managed three flights. Then wind picked up to 25 km/h so we decided to take a short break. Around 2 PM it started to rain and there was no wind decrease in the forecast, so we packed up and called it today.
Excellent work guys.
Sep 27/15 – Graham, Chris and Aaron
/in Uncategorized/by Andre ZemanBusy day at the field. Chris met me early am to do balance check on his new paramotor. Then it was off to the field to meet Graham and go on with his ground handling. Chris then started to break in his motor. It was too gusty for Chris to fly so he took it easy and Graham was fine tuning his kiting.
We took short mid day break and discussed Canadian economy and Canada’s future. After lunch, Aaron joined us. He has 22 flights. He last flew 2 years ago but has purchased gear and was kiting occasionally. Wind calmed out around 4:30 pm and Aaron started to fly. He did not forget anything and quickly made 6 flights. Unfortunately, Chris was not feeling well and decided to sit this one out. It was too bad because conditions were perfect.
Graham continued with his ground handling, now having paramotor on his back. He almost got it now, he will fly tomorrow for sure.
It was very long but rewarding day at the field. The weather was stunning.
